Notice of changes
to trash pickup services
Beginning Monday, April 18, 2005, pickup for village residents in the
lower end (west of Glenwood) will be Mondays ONLY. Pickup for residents in
the upper end (east of Glenwood) will be Thursdays ONLY.
2004
news
The restoration project of
the previous mill lands is underway and going well. The New Boston
Eagles new building is complete.
New businesses to the area include Aaron
Rents, Cooper Truck Parts, Praises Bookstore, and a new wireless cafe in the
New Boston Shopping Center. Several other small businesses are in
the process of opening, and will be posted as soon as more information is
available. The previous On-Cue building is now Sam Goody's.
Other local businesses which are doing well
include D.W. Swick, Southeastern Business College, Barbara's Hallmark, and the
Shake Shoppe.
2002 news
We are in the process of updating our parks and recreational facilities. The New Boston
Beautification Committee recently purchased a beautiful fountain from George Essman's
Landscaping and installed it in Millbrook Park.
A Monument, purchased from Flower's Monument Co., honoring the Police Officers and
Firemen killed in the line of duty, has been erected in front of the New Boston Fire Dept.
Several new businesses have opened their doors in New Boston and some established
businesses have expanded and remodeled. The new businesses are: Hibbett Sports, On Cue
Book Store, CATO'S Clothing Store and Maple's Catering Service. New Boston Beverage
Co. is under new ownership and a new CVS Drug Store was built at the corner of Gallia St.
and Harrisonville Ave. The New Boston Eagles are currently in process of constructing a
new building and Golden Corral remodeled the inside of their restaurant. Wal-Mart is in the
process of remodeling and expanding their store and K-Mart recently completed their
remodeling project. Blackburn's Food Mart has completed a major expansion and
remodeling at their store adding a Pharmacy. Cliffside Housing has undergone remodeling
and increased their parking area. OSCO, Vinyl Craft, DeLille Oxygen, Shawnee Computer, Genesis, and
all other businesses are operating at full speed.
